Senior Software Engineer – Backend

We are looking for

a Senior Software Engineer – Backend, who thrives on solving complex problems. You will take ownership of key parts of the development process, contribute to architecture decisions, and work closely with the team to keep improving and applying modern technologies in our work. 

Your role

• Develop in-house farming software solutions using Java as the primary language, in combination with Python components, as well as GCP, Microservices, REST, Kubernetes, Quarkus, Langchain, PostgreSQL (+PostGIS), BigQuery, Terraform, and Git to build scalable systems from day one
• Take ownership of different parts of the software development process and contribute to architecture decisions
• Conduct daily code reviews to ensure high-quality code and enhance overall team performance
• Manage data collection processes, including extract, transform, and load (ETL) operations
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement by leveraging AI and the latest technologies
• Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment by mentoring and guiding team members as the team grows and the right opportunities arise
• Work in sync with Login5 Foundation’s values and vision

Your experiences and skills

• A wealth of experience and a passion for creating high-quality technical solutions
• Experience in mentoring and guiding team members, with a clear ambition to step into a team leadership role
• Demonstrated experience in working with databases, optimizing performance, and implementing efficient data-handling processes
• Experience in cloud computing technologies is a plus 
• Proficiency in Java programming language and SQL is desirable, but not mandatory. We prioritize an engineering mindset and problem-solving abilities over specific languages or technologies
• Previous involvement in complex projects, where you played a role in architecture decisions and demonstrated your ability to tackle challenging technical problems
• Ability to find a balance between attention to detail and pragmatic thinking, and understanding the trade-offs between perfection and efficient delivery
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
