The spring sowing season has begun! Find out how chickpeas and other crops are kicking off the season for a successful harvest ahead.

The end of March and the beginning of April brought much-needed rain, important for both winter crops and ensuring optimal soil moisture for spring planting.

Last week, favorable conditions allowed us to begin pre-sowing preparations and kick off the spring sowing season.

Chickpeas play an important part of our crop rotation strategy, and each year, we aim to expand the area dedicated to their production. This season, we’ve started by sowing chickpeas on plot SK-14.

Last week, we sowed 69,22 hectares, but this is just the beginning. We plan to increase this area significantly, with 132,71 hectares in the northern region, sowing on plots SK-14, SK-10, NK-22 and NK-21, and 43,83 hectares in the southern region with chickpeas sown on MU-53 and  MU-18.

After sowing chickpeas, we will continue with sunflowers, one of the leading crops in our rotation, along with smaller areas dedicated to sorghum, soybeans, amaranth, industrial hemp, millet, and cowpeas. These crops are mainly on test plots, as we are still testing their production technologies in organic conditions.

With spring sowing now underway, we’re looking forward to seeing how this year’s crops will grow and contribute to a productive and successful harvest season.
